I'm intrigued by this ter'angreal in the shape of a ring with a black stone in the middle. Once you put a drop of your blood on it, the ter'angreal...

- gives you strength and speed
- allows you to hide
- slowly saps your life and kills you

Let's hear your opinion on these ter'angreal..

1. These things seem particularly malevolent. Do you think they are ter'angreal from the AOL which are being used incorrectly, or were they designed for this purpose?

2. Do you think the Seanchan can make these ter'angreal, or do they have a stash of say a hundred rings which they use for the highest priority missions?

3. What do you think of a person's blood linking their life force to a ter'angreal? What is RJ's message regarding a person's blood and their life force or soul? Do you think these ter'angreal link to the bloodknives like Callandor's warding was linked to Rand?

4. What further purpose do you see for these bloodknives in the series?

1: I think they were designed specifically for that purpose in AoL. I would make sense to use assasins to kill significant Channeler's but if they sent people who could channel they would be detected. So send non-channelers with those powers and go ala Kamikazee on the Lightside. Most likely a Darkside ter'.

2: They seem to be a very specialized group only used as a last resort. I would hazard a guess that they found stashes maybe a few hundred. And while they are mostly used in raids, in Seachan they would send in ground forces soon after and probably recover some rings. Though they may be a one time thing. She said once activated which would imply one time thing.

3: Maybe a kind of reverse healing. Healing takes energy out of people. I can see Semi help create a ter' that did that specifically (so they couldn't be traced back to were the assassins came from)then tie it to increase strength and speed. Sounds like a D&D +5 strength ring or something....

4: I can see the rings being taken back by the DO forces (im sure that there is a DF in Seanchan that can find the warehouse of the ter's and steal them like Sheriam and the Dream rings or a Forsaken can just go get them) and used to assassinate high powered AS and Ashaman.
