1. These things seem particularly malevolent. Do you think they are ter'angreal from the AOL which are being used incorrectly, or were they designed for this purpose?

I think they were designed for this purpose doing the Aes Sedai Wars that took place in Seanchan before the Empire was created. The a'dam were created during the same time period and this function seems to belong to a similar grouping of insidious ter'angreal.

2. Do you think the Seanchan can make these ter'angreal, or do they have a stash of say a hundred rings which they use for the highest priority missions?

I think they can make them, but only certain damane have the ter'angreal making ability, and since they are such a backward culture, they are only working from older copies. I don't think they consider the a'dam ter'angreal - at this point, they consider them to be natural parts of life.

3. What do you think of a person's blood linking their life force to a ter'angreal? What is RJ's message regarding a person's blood and their life force or soul? Do you think these ter'angreal link to the bloodknives like Callandor's warding was linked to Rand?

Actually, I don't think their soul is connected to a person's blood, so I think the blood is used to create a Bond on a biological/genetic level to some property in the material that extracts more and more nutrients and vital energy from the host to fuel the effect - more akin to a parasite than a connection to a metaphysical soul.

4. What further purpose do you see for these bloodknives in the series?

They are the D&D equivalent of Cursed Rings, in that they are kind of lame. I think there may be one or two more of them hiding out in Tar Valon that will try to assassinate Egwene, and Gawyn will save her in a similar matter to how Gareth saved Siuan. By the way, I'm all for Healing people, but doing so on a battlefield without surveying the area first seems like a suicide run.
