For KoD I was as pathetic as you have been for TGS
But for TGS i didnt even read the chapter titles before hand. I had NO FREAKING idea that verin was black ajah and I had no freaking idea rand would be collared.... you get the point.
Each one was a surprise and IMHO the book was so much better because of it. I view it as one of the best books in the series.
