While travelling with Rand, Asmo showed fear of two beings; Semirhage and the DO. (He wasn't even in awe of Lanfear, whom we know to be among the most powerful of the Forsaken.) What Asmo was really afraid of was pain:

"Another little present for you, Lews Therin. That shield will allow a trickle through, enough for him to teach. It will dissipate with time, but he'll not be able to challenge you for months, and by that time he will have no choice but to remain with you. He was never very good at breaking through a shield; you must be willing to accept pain, and he never could." TSR, chapter 58

Since we know that Semirhage eliminates herself from being the killer, and as far as we know, the DO doesn't have a physical form, we have to assume that someone else scared the be-jesus out of him.

It's further proof against Mesaana though. Her PoV in LoC showed that she needed to force herself to be cruel, and that she struggled with the concept. In other words she struggles to be evil like the other Forsaken, and this is pretty much why she's considered to be second rate.

In my opinion, Asmodean would be scared of Semirhage, Sammael, Lanfear, Demandred and Graendal. I don't think he'd be scared out of his wits by Mesaana or Moghedien. Not only that, but those certainly wouldn't go after a male Forsaken - they're far too subservient and cowardly.

Only Lanfear knows that Asmodean is shielded. One would think that he wouldn't be scared of her, and that she'd merely come to check up on him - but he'd seen her in a fury at the docks and knew she'd be after blood. That means only a very daring Forsaken would go directly for a male Forsaken at 'full' strength, which once again reinforces my list above.
