1) Rand someone manages to use the TP again, and seals the DO's prison with that. The DO tries his counterstroke, only to realize too late that he actually tainted himself, thus fully sealing himself (or something).
The merging of Rand and Moridin would allow him, I suppose, more access to the TP. I suspect that this is what allowed it in the first place. The DO can grant use of the True Power to those who serve him--Rand most certainly doesn't. I think that if the DO had that access to Rand's soul, he could do far worse than allow him to use his precious power, as addictive and terrible as it is.
