She deserves major credit for both her judgement on a number of issues and her perseverance in doing what it took. But by turning her into a saint and a demi-goddess, as well as the only Aes Sedai with a functioning brain, it all becomes a little too much. Elaida digs her own grave in a spectacular and rather unrealistic fashion - certainly it was fun to see Elaida put in her place at last, but it was so exaggerated that the feeling was a bit hollow. The scenes with the Aes Sedai and even Sitters following her every suggestion are even worse in that regard. These are women of over a hundred years old in many cases, who were involved in politics before Egwene's mother was born. They really should not need, or take, basic advice from someone they consider an Accepted, regardless of the spine, levelheadedness and good judgement said Accepted displays.

And as for the Seanchan attack, while Cannoli seems to contradict himself by pointing out Egwene's accurate assessment of it here while pretending she considers it a massive victory elsewhere, he's right in this thread. I will agree with you that it was important for her to finally face up to her demons, and that in that regard, one can cheer for her causing death and mayhem among the Seanchans. But to say that it was particularly impressive, or that she caused their mission to fail... no.
Actually I meant that she considers her performance impressive, calling herself a hero of the Horn and the like.
