I think Rand has become more sane, but his connection with Moridin is not severed yet

I think a big part of what is to come in WoT is how Rand is going to eliminate his connection with Moridin. I think a big part of this will be Rand faking his death, or by Alivia helping him die.
Rand succesfully integrated with Lews Therin and his past lives, but Moridin is still there. Though debatable, Rand may even have the halo of darkness around him as well. However, I would probably argue that the Halo of darkness around Rand will probably vanish. It may have been more of a reaction to how dark Rand was becoming.
But until we know more about just how he did the supposedly impossible and channeled the TP, we can't know for sure. Especially since the end of the book seems to suggest him overcoming the effects of the Semirhage incident... it's weird.
Edit: by the way, hadn't we concluded that blocking saidin/saidar also blocked someone from the TP...? Or am I misremembering that?

Anyone get the feeling that Semirhage was set up by Shaidar Haran to die - to put the Dragon Reborn into a predicament so dire that he could only reach out to the True Power as a last resort, something that only the Great Lord of the Dark can bestow as a privilege, and thereby become corrupted over time? Or do you think it was something the Pattern wove into existence for a precaution should te need arise, when Rand and Moridin's opposing balefires crossed and merged their threads together? Or sheer happenstance of such?

Obviously yes... otherwise they wouldn't have left the access key behind for Rand *NM*

I don't think they expected Semi to get away with Rand

I'm not so sure... I think they planned most of this event as their revenge on Semirhage

I do think that's quite likely, yes.

Either Rand channels through Moridin, is allowed to touch it always or the Spider capture was flawed
