- Why am I delaying reading this? I think some part of me is afraid it won't live up to expectations or that it might suck. Until I actually start reading (ahem, skip to chapter 3), I can hold on to hope. Oh well. Back later.
...but I can say with some certainty that the book definately does not "suck". That should not be a fear....not at all. It's good, really good.
There will be numerous Egwene-isms for you to jump on...but that's a good thing, in a weird way. You'll probably jump on some grammar, structure, etc. It's different than RJ, and quite noticeably so in some parts. The writing for Mat starts off a bit rough, but does smooth out some.
The ending is interesting. I've read it twice now (the last few chapters that is), and I still have not felt the emotion I felt in many other places throughout the book. It doesn't feel like an RJ ending, to be honest, but it's not bad. It's just...different. It feels like BS wrote all of it, but I can't be sure of course.
I think that unless you go into this book with the most critical of eye (ie: unrealistic), you will be pleased in the end.
I would slave, to pave the way, to sink your ship of fools.
Some butthead of a Hemingway fan wrote in my copy!!!

You will, of course, form your own opinion...

That's because it is not a real ending. RJ didn't want it to end there.
