Liked the stolen credit card analogy. As best as I can tell, the worst things ever done to Egwene were done by female chanellers. I don't think that comes up often, but think about it.
She's initially under Nyneave's thumb in EMond's Field, wanting to be a wisdom but the position is already held by someone much younger than normal, Nyneave, a channeler, and Wisom happens to be the only reasonable route to power for a young woman who clearly likes to be in charge. She happily decides to run away, totally unwilling to believe that she alone out the original group, including Nyneave and Thom, had zero legitimate reason to come along.
She then gets bossed around by Moraine, a channeler, then dumped in the tower, ruled over by yet more haughty female channelers, before happily foillowing Liandrin off to be captured by a horde of latent channelers who enslave channelers. She then returns to the tower and gets bosssed around by female channelers again. She escapes with orders to hunt down the BA, only to get bossed around by Nyneave again, then imprisoned by female channelers, again, before returning to being bossed around by Moraine.
Moving to TSR, she manages to latch on to the wise ones, lies through her teeth, and still ends up getting bossed around by female channelers who eventually whip her for lying and oathbreaking. She then goes to Salidar to become a puppet bossed around by more AS.
I think at this point, she clearly is stuck in the simultaneous worship of her arrogant and powerful masters and a nasty desire to impress them while showing them up and spitefully geting back at them, this seems to govern her behavior after this point.

The intuitive mind is a sacred gift and the rational mind is a faithful servant. We have created a society that honors the servant and has forgotten the gift.
