There are two different associations, each with its own vocabulary, for the morning star. It is ἑωσφόρος > lucifer when it is mentioned in a negative fashion, and ὁ ἀστήρ ὁ πρωινός > stella matutina when mentioned in a positive fashion. I don't know if Earendel was only associated with one or with both in Old English.
