I'm going to disagree with you here. The Fain theory would require RJ to have deliberately written Egwene as evil and I don't believe he did that. RJ wrote flawed characters but he's not GRRM - he had quite traditional ideas about good and evil. However we may interpret Egwene, it's quite clear that RJ intended her as a protagonist and heroine. He just didn't always do a good job of actually writing her that way. Similarly, Gawyn was intended to be conflicted but good hearted, when actually we got an unreliable selfish idiot.
