I don't know if it's that rampant. There's a lot of supporting factors, the monastery-like exclusion, a silent understanding from the sisters, an anti-male vibe for girls emulating Red sisters.. But yeah, for a fantasy series, WOT was pretty damn chaste. Like Mat, he had a lot of sexcapades between the lines, but going by the text it was all just "kissing and dancing".
In the larger scheme of things, I think RJ's vague, rather dry exposition was often bad for conveying emotion. It's hard to feel much horror or anger over people like Semirhage and Fain, for example. Or sadness for the Amayar.
Yep. And as for Aran'gar, there was probably a lot of potential that went unused there. Some other author could have done a lot more with a powerful bi transsexual villain.
Oh, and he had a "biting tongue" as well
