I'd guess he was pretty consistent given how much attention he paid to these types of details
I think it's for much the same reason he retained notes on the Aes Sedai strengths, and of those women who might run into a sister - so he'd have it straight what their impressions would be of one another. Whether or not someone might look up at a particular character or down, that kind of thing.

It's a pity the Companion was set out like a giant glossary. I would have had tables and made it more scientific. A table with all the strengths in the Power, the Power in general, the ajahs, a whole section on the Forsaken, and the Age of Legends, objects of the Power, the Old Tongue, the Aiel etc. Illustrations would have been appreciated too, though perhaps not for some fans.
