I remember Elayne going off at Teslyn and Joline for not recognising that she was Aes Sedai, never mind that they couldn't recognise her as such, as in doing so would mean the recognise Egwene's authority, not Elaida's.
Egwene is the one who put her in that position, though. Loyalty to Egwene mandated Elayne's behavior. Note, however, that as in other cases where Egwene initially misleads her (such as about Mat's character, or Rand's unloveability), Elayne eventually comes to the truth on her own. She pretty much says that exact thing to the Kinswomen about Duhara's denial of Elayne's status, that she can't admit Elayne is Aes Sedai, because that would mean admitting Egwene is the Amyrlin.
That is true, but at the time it seemed a little over the top Probably just born out of the frustration of Aes Sedai loyal to the rebels who should recognise her as Aes Sedai but didn't really.
I do think Sanderson's books will be a challenge (drawing to the end of listening to the Towers of Midnight audio), while I do like Sanderson's other books, and think his attempt at finishing the WoT was okay, there are certainly challenges with trying to determine Jordan's actual intent vs Sanderson's 'interpretations'.
That's always been the extent of my problem with the man. While his books are not to my taste, I'm not going out of my way to criticize them. Even if there were stylistic differences with WoT, I could handle that. It is what he gets wrong that is so frustrating.
Yeah, agreed
