I actually skipped all the Egwene chapters in CoT on my first time reading through the series, and didn't go back to see them till the prologue of KoD where she's in the Tower... God, she's awful.
Um, hey, Cannoli, what's your view on REE apparently suing Harriet? From what I've seen, it seems laughable, but I haven't actually done any digging on it whatsoever... is there any strength to their argument or is this a Hail Mary on their part, hoping to find some way to keep themselves afloat?
I guess it depends on the facts, how much she actually knew, and how it was presented to her. A lot of their credibility is tied up in the fan reaction to and demand for the product to which they hold the rights, so the lawsuit would make a certain amount of sense if their claims are true. On the other hand, attacking the sainted widow of the tragic author is hardly the way to endear themselves to the fanbase or disabuse us of the view that they lack respect for the property. Overall, without more knowledge of the facts and details, I'd lean towards this being just another attempt to milk every cent they can from the rights.
