I'm not surprised it's been beaten to death, but since it was all new to me, I had to vent

Moiraine was replaced by Cadsuane, end of story. But no, since Min said Rand couldn't win without her, we got her back. Far better if she had died when she went through the doorway.
Agreed. But because Min's viewing did say that Moiraine was necessary, her part in the story felt so...wrong. It was trivial. Rand was happy, sure, but he had already overcome his dark side by that point, so his happiness wasn't necessary, and Cadsuane could have gotten Rand and Egwene to compromise herself. Now it just feels like Moiraine was only necessary because Cadsuane couldn't be bothered to stop being aloof for the greatest diplomatic event of the past several thousand years. So yes, had Moiraine died and stayed dead, it would have been a whole lot better all around.
I disagree actually. She was always strong in earth and she basically try to heal the ground and succeeded. Against Taim she repeated the weave. It's not the first time people discover new weaves.
I disagree with your disagreement. It isn't just the fact that Egwene performed the weave, it's the manner and timing of her doing it. Nynaeve was always shown to be a good healer, and her whole motivation as a character has been healing and protecting other characters. So her curing stilling/gentling was hardly surprising, but it was still built up to, and happened after several attempts and thoughts on the matter. That's entirely different from healing someone, say Suian, in the nick of time just when a second channeler is necessary in order to save Nynaeve from certain death. Because that is very much what Egwene did. She thought about how there might be something that could fix those cracks, and then those thoughts went away, she never pursued them further, and never made any attempts until she finally just did it. That's just bad storytelling.
The ending was lame, no one knows about the bond, except for Min's but those who knew (think Rand bonded her) assumed he released her.
Doesn't Nynaeve know about it? I could be mistaken, it's been a long time. Either way, it was certainly lame. I'm happy for Rand that he survived, but I don't like him going off into the world to live his life as essentially the Rand from Eye of the World. That's lame. He is different now, and shouldn't run from that. And at the very least, he shouldn't just abandon all the people who care about him and let them think he's dead, while he's off living the life of a gleeman.
The Asha'man were under trained. Looks like Logain took the best trained ones with him and the rest went with Ituralde. Taim only completed the training of those loyal to him.
Maybe they were under trained, but they would still have been an asset. If peasants received weapons and were expected to fight, then so should channelers. But that goes back to the same argument of how the Light was missing many channelers, Asha'man and Wise Ones included.
I enjoyed it for what it was. I rolled my eyes a few times but, hey better than nothing
I still enjoyed it too, and tore through the book, reading it in about two days. But despite that, I'm not sure I can actually say that it's better than nothing. It almost seems like it would have been better to leave it open to our imaginations.
I finally read it, and now I'm going to vent/share my thoughts to anyone and everyone who'll listen
