It was a bit exhausting to keep reading about more and more of it.

The whole book was a bit of a struggle.

At no point did I feel I wuld miss out by skipping a page of trollocs marching to their death for fear there would be some important information in it.

I feel that the constant use of what Sanderson obviously feels are clever uses of the power (Gateways) was tedious in the extreme.

A gateway to watch the battle .... A gateway to send someones fireball back at them .... a gateway to make some cheap leather goods ....


I think there was a LOT of "nerd-service" in this book from Sanderson. He's that kind of author: big on reddit and panders to the fandom, etc. I think he was trying to put shades of "Portal" into the work, as a nod. I'm surprised he didn't use the word "aperture" anywhere.
