I assumed this was a left over ability from the duel against the DO. There is a point where Rand is said to channel weaves of creation, not the OP. You would think someone who did that would gain an innate understanding of the mechanics of creation. Sort of a miniature creator.
When you strip away all of the characters in the book and get down to the story-behind-the-story, you are left with what happened back in the AoL, from Charn's pov in tSR, chapter 26:
Mierin had said today was the day. She said she had found a new source for the One Power. Female Aes Sedai and male would be able to tap the same source, not separate halves. What men and women could do united would be even greater now that there would be no differences. And today she and Beidomon would tap it for the first time-the last time men and women would work together wielding a different Power. Today.
Mierin's quest for a Power that men and women could both use led to the Bore, (which in turn gave us the reason for our story). And, the ultimate end-game was always Sealing the Bore and undoing the damage from Mierin's folly.
What I see is the "one power for men and women" quest going full-circle. What Mierin sought in the DO's power, Rand found in the Creator's power. That is the kind of ironic resolution I would expect from RJ.
Yeah that part fits all well and good, but...
My problem with this idea on Rand's new power, is that embracing ether of the half's of the OP is "like life itself", so how does life+life=nothing? And for that matter, why didn't Rand comment on the high that comes with channeling the OP seeming to just vanish when he started to "interlace saidar and saidin in their pure forms"?
While I'm sure channeling the "One" Power would be different then channeling one of it's half's, I just find it hard to believe it would feel like... Nothing.

I'm pretty sure Nakomi was sanderson's creation, not RJ's *NM*

I just read an old RJ quote about the Creator's involvement. Can you tell me what you think, DomA?

Not sure I agree on what Rand's new power is, but...

There is no female Dragon. The Dragon soul is male. However, other souls can fill the role.

No, other souls can't fill the role; it's always the same soul, i.e. Rand/LTT *NM*

We do not know that, and the Q&As are very vague on it.

That quote just seems to reinforce what I said, not refute it. *NM*

Amaresu is a hero of the horn, whom RJ almost certainly based off the goddess Amaterasu. *NM*
