4) Padan Fain - you all know what I am talking about. Horrible disaster - what was he for in the series? To be killed at the very end of the book by Mat in his free time with the left hand and eye closed? Sorry...
well - RIP AMoL

I may be alone in this, but I always saw Fain as the aberration in the pattern that didn't really belong in the world, nevermind the series. I thought it was totally fitting that Mat, who frankly is the *real* Lord of Chaos as far as I'm concerned, deals him right out of the pattern while hardly batting an eye. Fain is played up to be this super dangerous malevolent force and in the end he's dispatched by Mat who isn't even susceptible to his primary (and seemingly, only) mode of attack anymore. Surprise! It felt like a perfectly valid moment to me.
I'm much more on board with many of DOMA's complaints. I have no idea who the guy is but his analysis is very good.

Except, he's not "played up" to be dangerous- he IS dangerous. Or, was.
