In the back of my mind I knew that the series took place over an EXTREMELY short period of time (I read it somewhere), but to see it in the book as Perrin was reflecting over leaving the Two Rivers was kinda a shock. I've been reading since 2000 (a much shorter time span than alit of you) and it always seems that much more time has passed. Is there a general timeline that tells when the major events happen during this two year period?

Overall, I was very pleased about how this book turned out. Someone else here said that reading about the killing of the trollocs was exhausting. I have to agree with that, but I think I like it. That's how I think it's supposed to be when you're reading about the battle that determines the fate of mankind.

I was pretty disappointed that Fain was killed so easily, but it does make some sense I suppose.

I loved that not every one of the lightsiders lived to see the end. I had hoped that Egwene would live and have to admit to Mat that she was wrong to not trust him sooner. Why did Faile have to survive? Perrin's still my favorite and he deserves peace from that woman.
I wonder if the two Towers decided to stay separated like they have been. I always assumed that the men from the DT would move into the palace that Elaida was building for herself.

That's all of my random thought on the book.
Kirk: Spock, you want to know something? Everybody’s human.
Spock: I find that remark…insulting.
