Serious question.
I think I've not enjoyed a "final arc" so much in a very long time. The minute he went after Demandred I started laughing, and didn't stop until five minutes after reading his death scene.
Some part of my brain told me it was wrong to feel some much pleasure at the anticipated humiliating end and even worse during his scene with Galad, but the part of me that thought "fuck that, it's Gawyn" won.

And I knew Galad was going to face a similar humiliation when he went after Demandred. I don't hate Galad, but found that amusing as well.
I *loved* Lan fighting him and killing him, but I couldn't help but wonder...think Mat would've been able to defeat Demandred with a staff?
After seeing Gawyn and Galad lose, I was seriously misdirected enough to think either of two things would happen:
1) There was some foreshadowing before with Egwene deciding that personally facing Demandred was to be lured into a trap. I almost wondered if the severed bond would make her try.
2) Mat. It seemed that by having the two guys he beat at once go down to this enemy, the setup was complete for Mat to face Demandred. And Mat had a major advantage apart from his medallion: His luck. He could trust to that and move so no stones or other things flung at him by Demandred would hit.
In the event, I felt the Lan thing worked very well, especially given how the parallels between Rand and Lan were built up in this book.
Well, that was fun

Packing so much into Chapter 37 was Sanderson's brain child. *NM*

By all out, you mean throwing away what she believes to be the sine qua non of the Tower's survival?

I'm just saying that Egwene's actions give the lie to her expressed priorities.

Nah, tGS consisted largely of people talking smack to Gawyn and setting him straight.
