It's starting to sink in... thebestrob Send a noteboard - 14/12/2012 02:15:41 AM
So I've been doing a re-read of KOD onward (supplemented by Leigh Butler's WOT reread) and I have to say that the idea of the series ending is starting to sink in.

I started reading WOT when I was 18 years old (aPOD was out at the time) and I'm now 32 and have come to realise how many times the WOT universe has been around for pivotal moments in my adult life.

I am reminded of all of the times that I've smiled, gotten goosebumps, freaked out with tension and read through a new book so fast that I barely took it in. And now it's drawing to a close.

I am excited beyond belief that the journey is drawing to a close, but also sad that after years of lurking wotmania, DM and RAFO where I could hear about other people as excited and touched by the series as I have been that it's all going to end.

I suspect that with aMOL's passing, I'll say goodbye to the genre which I feel to some extent that I've outgrown, but before I do, I want to see Nynaeve kick some foresaken ass, shed a tear as Moiraine and Rand are reunited, laugh a few more times with Matt, and get goosebumps as the white and black towers finally work together to achieve the greatness that we've been waiting for. Oh, and I cannot wait for a few more posts from Canolli about the vileness of Eggy after her no doubt heroic, but probably overbearing, acts.

So in anticipation of the end, it's a big thanks from me to everyone here, on the other boards, RJ, BS, HM and co. Bring on the Last Battle.

Anyone else feeling that bittersweet feeling?

Rob
