Elayne told Aviendha too, and it didn't work for Avi either. Min told Birgette, and it didn't work for her either. This situation doesn't prove much, since they were very close to Rand/Elayne, and those two were on a roll, preventing the people on the other end of those bonds from being able to focus enough.

Just miss-remembered the details ... was thinking Min explained it to Aviendha when she only reminded her of it ... whatever. Fact is the Channeler was able to make it work and the non-Channelers were not.

WH
A Lily In Winter

"The kerchief trick didn't work for you, either?" she said hoarsely.

Aviendha blinked, and crimson darkened her face. A moment later, she said, "That is better. Thank you. I. ... With him in my head, I forgot." She frowned. "It did not work for you?"

And it seems that Rina is the one who masked the bond to Elyas, which is just another case of the bondholder masking it. And the Min scene is interesting (I still think she could do it if she tried hard enough, much like ignoring the heat/cold...and we've seen channelers have trouble with even that trick) but it still doesn't prove that someone who has been bonded can mask the bond, channeler or not.

Wait...what about Toveine and Gabrelle? Wouldn't Toveine mask the bond to Logain if she could when Gabrelle was trying to screw his brains out in order to get him to let his guard down? The scene where Toveine is looking disgustedly at Gabrelle implies she was well aware of what was going on with her and Logain. Granted, the scene proves nothing one way or the other, but it seems the bonded Aes Sedai would try to mask their bonds to the men so the men won't be able to "read" them, yet we haven't seen it happen.

I just think the nature of the bond would prevent masking on the side of the one who was bonded. All of the power lies with the bondholder - down to being able to suck the very life out of the one they own - so it seems impossible that the one bonded could do something to protect themselves from the bond with the exception of holding the One Power, which is what we saw with Rand when Alanna tried to use the bond to compel him.
