What was this terrible pun I saw this morning? Artsapat Send a noteboard - 01/11/2012 08:39:58 AM
"I wish I was a derivative, so I could lie tangent to your curves."

And another one for good measure:

"Two functions are chatting at the origin of a graph, when SUDDENLY...

A derivative comes running from minus infinity towards them screaming 'Aargh, I'm a derivative. I'm going to take your derivative! Aargh.'

On of the functions panics and -quite naturally- runs away toward plus infinity, all the while screaming 'Help, help, halp. He's going to take my derivative'. The other function, however, just stands there looking tough.

The derivative comes closer, confused why the second function is just standing there.
'Why aren't you running?'
The second function smiles and smugly says 'Because I'm e to the power x.'
'Ah AAAH!' the derivative answers with a look of triumph on his face, 'But I'm d/dy!'"

(But, yeah: I dislike the whole Bell curve discussion. I mean: a discussion on statistics without any data that you can actually measure. That goes BEYOND a normal discussion)
The mystery deepens... I think. *MySmiley*

I can think of a few things I like with curves, but I might get banned from the board - 31/10/2012 05:18:57 PM 612 Views
