But we know that it takes significantly more strength to maintain multiple weaves DREWRULESWOT! Send a noteboard - 26/10/2012 08:14:58 AM
With Cadsuane mid-to-high 30s, Eg/Avi/El at 40, Nynaeve at 65, etc. Androl, meanwhile, is probably around 4 or 5. I see him as similar to Morgase, only a little more powerful.

The problem with Nynaeve at 65 is that it makes zero sense. She's has about 6 women stronger than her in the entire series, and matches mid-level Foresaken strength. No way is she 65.

And given what we know about strength being a bell curve, there's no way exceptionally strong women like Moiraine are going to be below strength 50, which would be the average strength of all channelers.

She's strong for the Third Age, when average strength has declined a great deal. It makes no sense that she would be 50; Elayne, Egwene and Aviendha are all significantly stronger than she, yet Rand (at not even close to full potential, mind you, as of tSR) handled both Egwene and Elayne with little difficulty—and Egwene, at least, was close to her potential at that time because of the forcing she experienced at the hands of the Seanchan.

Similarly, it simply doesn't make sense that Moiraine is over half as strong as Rand. Just, no.

Shields are easy to put in place if the person is not holding the Source, and require a bit more power to continue shielding. In the aforementioned chapter of tSR, Egwene is not holding saidar. Elayne may possibly be, but she was not forced by the Seanchan, and therefore nowhere near her potential.

Than it does to maintain just one of a type of weave. If they were both really that strong, Rand should have to be using almost his full strength to hold their shields—except he's also weaving about four or five other things at the same time, while they are frantically and assumedly beating at those shields with all their strength...
Here's to keeping the spirit of Wotmania alive...cheers to RAFO
