So I've been wanting to buy the audiobooks for a very long time. Like 10-12 years actually. But I could never really justify spending so much money on the CD's when I already had the books and I had already read them. Amazon has an audiobook app available that provides you two credits for taking their 30 day free trial. So I signed up for it and got a free download of the eye of the world audiobook which normally costs about 45 bucks.
So I was pretty excited about it so that I could finally hear the correct pronunciation of so many of our favorite character's names.
Come to find out I was pretty disappointed. I have been pronouncing pretty much every name correctly the whole time. So I wasn't really provided with the profound WoT changing revelation I was hoping. It's exactly as they pronounce them in the glossaries. And two, they're extremely boring. I don't know why they chose that narrator but he is very boring sounding. His voice isn't particularly exciting and the eye of the world was one of the more exciting books.
So while everybody's opinions vary, I wouldn't recommend purchasing things audiobooks unless they are free. The story is much more exciting as your mind unfolds it in its own way rather than hearing somebody's rendition of it in a melodramatic flavor.

Don't count on the pronunciation to be fully accurate.

For the record, I still prefer how they say it in the audiobooks.

Huh, that's how I've been saying it. Innate geniusness strikes again? *NM*
