I had already given up on this part: Rand does not need to be gentled to do the job. The key thing is that he channels the TP because touching it with the OP leads to the taint. I got just carried away with the idea that Egwene might gentle Rand when BS announce 'great foreshadowing in TDR'.

for the other part, here again the key quote, i.e. the last quote we are given about Min's research: "Light is held before the maw of the infinitive void and all that he is can be seized.” This needs interpretation. So I still propose that ‘light’ refers to Callandor, ‘infinite void’ is the bore and ‘all that he is’ refers to the TP (and hence the DO). Rand has access to the TP, and I think it was not just for the story with Semirage. Moridin claims he doesn't understand the link between them and it has been proposed before that Rand's access to the TP is due to this link. And if I understood correctly, the DO doesn't have control over access to the TP, he is the TP. So if Rand can channel the TP it is independently of the DO's wishes. Finally, there needs to be an explanation why Callandor will play a major role and why it is flawed. My proposal could explain that.

But I would be curious to read alternative interpretations of the "the light is held..." sentence.
