Severed Rand would not be able to channel the TP. RJ has said in an interview (one of the questions of the week) that the OP conduit needs to be present and intact for one to be able to channel the TP. So option one of three does not apply. As for the others, who knows.
maybe my thoughts here were unnecessarily complicated. maybe it is good enough if Rand channels only the TP then Saidin/saidar do not touch the TP? One of the key problems is to remove the TP from the world without tainting the OP...

The DO has total control over the TP I just don't think he can distinguish between Rand and Moiridin
