Whoops, I was thinking LE Modesitt and wondering why this was here. Cannoli Send a noteboard - 06/12/2011 04:15:07 AM
It's weird though, because the Recluse Series caught my eye due to Sweet's distinctive art style, at a point in my life pre-internet, when I only learned about new WoT releases by hounding bookstore employees. I did not really discover WoT via the internet until after WH, whose prologue was the first e-book I ever acquired as well. Anyway, while perusing the fantasy section, that easily-identifiable artwork would always trigger an alert in my head and after seeing book after book turn out not to be WoT, I ended up reading them. If George RR Martin wants to give RJ credit for the laudatory comments giving GoT a boost in initial interest, Modesitt surely owes RJ & Sweet some as well, the latter for having such a notable style that fans of either series might have a hard time not picking up the other one.

I generally found a book with a Sweet cover worth reading. - 06/12/2011 09:37:27 PM 655 Views
