An important moment in #AMoL centers on one character turning to another and asking, "How much do you trust Mat Cauthon?" How much indeed.

2) What is the important moment that revolves around trusting Mat?
3) Will that trust (assuming it is given) be justified in this instance? Or will Mat screw up, as some prophesies seem to suggest?

1) One of them could be Fortuona. And they are discussing her trusting Rand because Mat says so.
2) Fate of the future. Basically, implementation of Avi's visions.
3) I don't think Mat screws this up.
I believe X and Y would be Egwene and Elayne.
The important moment will probably be Egwene considering asking Mat to be the White Towers emmisary for peace to the Empress.
Mat will be forced to play the hero to bring about some kind of deal between the Empress and the White Tower.
Mat has earned the trust of many of the main characters despite his attitude. Mat won't screw it up. He's awesome.
