For example, we've seen Moiraine walk through a camp full of wounded warriors and we know that Rand personally surveyed many battlefields to count the corpses of Maidens.
I just never got the sense that the battle scenes were rendered as well as some other writers have done.
I'm basically saying that the gritty parts of a real fight weren't really the focus of how he wrote the battle scenes.

I think it does make them unrealistic. Stylistic choices determine how these scenes are conveyed.

WoT combat scenes are highly overrated. The non-OP fight scenes aresn't even scenes at all
