BS butchered the timeline in TGS and ToM. The link at the bottom is a pretty good timeline of the books: Verin committed suicide on day 800 of the series; Aviendha went to Rhuidean on day 780. That leaves Verin plenty of time to have had a disguised encounter with Avi (whom Verin would have known well, from Verin's days as a WO captive in Cairhien), before going to the Tower to do her reveal-all with Egwene. The way that BS slaughtered the timeline and split the story between two books is terrible writing and has caused a lot of unnecessary confusion.
