I am re-reading the series somewhat concurrently, but a little behind, BS. I have to admit, though, that I was a little disappointed by his comment that he disliked how Faile treated Perrin at the beginning of the book.

To me, Perrin was the lout by the way he tried to drive Faile away from him. I don't know why she put up with him. The one sentence that hit home for me was a statement from Faile to the affect that Perrin was trying to keep her from her rightful place (with Perrin) and therefore had to ask (to join her party).

And in ToM, BS had Faile being embarrassed about how she treated Perrin.

I know my opinion is different than most on this board on most things, though, so I was hoping to get more opinions.

Do you agree with BS about Faile's treatment of Perrin?

Both behaved badly, but Perrin was worse, purely because he made the decision and presented it to her without ever explaining why. Like many (many, many, many) issues of contention in the books, this one was caused by a lack of communication. What should have happened was this:

Perrin: Faile, I am going back to the Two Rivers which is said to be swarming with Whitecloaks. They want me dead and will likely kill anyone who associates with me, too. I love you dearly and don't want you to die. Please stay in Tear where it's safe.

Faile: There is no such thing as safety with Tarmon Gai'don around the corner. Let us at least face the danger together. If I come with you, I will take X, Y and Z precautions for my safety (just to make you feel better).

But in some of their later fights I am completely on Perrin's side. Two Rivers chauvinism can be tooth-grindingly infuriating, ie Rand trying to protect the Maidens, any one of whom could hand him his ears if he didn't channel first, but Faile is not a fighter and has no place in battle. Her presence distracts Perrin and means real fighters, soldiers, must guard her instead of fighting.

Every single Berelain argument could also have been shown for the non-issues they were if the two would just talk. Arg.
