There are actually a lot more people I could have mentioned. It was a time issue. Rushdie was one of the people who came to my mind very quickly. I just figured that people who frequent the WoT boards would be less likely to read him even if I recommended him so I tried to suggest authors who might pique their interest a bit more.
Political correctness is the pettiest form of casuistry.
