Seems to me that you're confused - just because you think a thematic element is presented in a certain way, doesn't mean you are right or that your interpretation should automatically trump others. In this case, just because characters have a saying doesn't mean this reveals some true nature underlying the universe. The characters saying "The Wheel weaves as the wheel wills" do not know how the Pattern functions or why. Relying on that statement is misleading.
You just described what you are doing. You are assuming that your view is correct.
I told the OP that I thought this idea was plausible, even though it would undermine my opinion as to what a major theme in the series was.
Your response was "Huh? No. You are so off it's not even funny.", and in that post, you proceed to give your opinion as to what a saying means. Sounds like you're assuming your point of view is right, and ignored the part of my post where I agreed with the OP.
"Those who think they have no time for bodily exercise will sooner or later have to find time for illness."

That actually seems cosmically plausible - but I really hope this is not the case

This. There's a reason one of his archetypes is the Fisher King. *NM*

The issue is that the Fisher King story is about the Land, not the People

But the chess analogy is what I'm seeing - the Dragon is necessary in degree not in total.

I, personally, like it. It makes sense for the Dragon to be an incarnation of the Serpent.
