Sanderson is also young enough to not take the criticism of his writing to heart and quit the project in a huff... To be willing to TRY to subsume his natural writing style to try to write in the style of Jordan. I would rather have that then some author who is so damned full of himself he would just HAVE to put his own mark on the series.
