Even without needing to know which flow he would try to use, knowing that Rand has an issue with hurting women, and thinking that he had feelings for her, she probably felt this ward go off, and sliced whatever he was doing before it hit her. I think it was a safe bet to think he wouldn't try hitting her with Fire, so I don't think she ever felt threatened by him - especially if she had other, anti-channeling defensive wards around her body.
