Women grow gradually in strength, except when they are forced.
Egwene was forced by the Seanchan in the first two books of the series. That jumped her strength up to close to her full strength. She is not forced again after that.
Yet, in her own words, she isn't much beyond Moiraine...
“I am stronger than Moiraine,” she told him firmly. “She would be whimpering on the floor, or insensible, if she tried to hold as much as I hold now.”
If Egwene were as close to her potential as you claim, Moiraine would simply burn out or die if she attempted to channel as much as Egwene. Yet, that is not what Egwene claims...
Most likely, the Seanchan took her straight to her full strength in one go. But even if they did not, then her growth subsequent to the forcing would revert back to the normal gradual basis again.
Says who? Forcing implies using the power way more than you usually would in your growing stages. When the wondergirls return from Falme, Siuan says that they have all</> grown much in strength. Elayne makes the same claim to Elaida with no contradiction.
Yes, Egwene was forced way more by the Seanchan, but Elayne and Nynaeve ended up being forced too. Which means that even post Seanchan, Egwene was being forced, though at a lower rate, since she wasn't living the cosseted Accepted's life.
Further, Siuan apologizes to Egwene for forcing all three of them. Which again indicates that just fending for themselves forced all three women, and all three of them were indeed forced.
One book after tSR, Aviendha states that Egwene is strong enough to overwhelm Amys and Melaine combined.
Yet in the same book, Amys hold Egwene's shield, though she's exhausted by it. By any stretch of the shielding rules, Egwene cannot be nearly twice as strong as Amys and still be held by her!
It is not possible for her to have jumped significantly from tSR to FoH, since no additional forcing took place between the two books.
First, she was indeed forced. Second, no jump took place, because you're completely overemphasizing Aviendha's remark. Egwene being nearly twice as strong as Amys is not at all supportable by the text.
Therefore, Egwene is already very close to her full strength at the time when Rand shields her and Elayne.
Yeah right. So women can nearly hold twice their strength and just wimper on the floor or faint, and not burn out or die. Quite an amazing new ability, this. Wonder why I've never heard of it...
Proof that Asmodean's effective One Power strength is greater than Moghedien's...
