Just because cuendillar is unbreakable doesn't mean the person behind it is. A warhammer to the chest would still kill you just fine; many weapons operate by causing shockwaves.

1: Warhammer would not automaticalley equal death, though it would hurt alot. However it whould be more effective than a sword. Look into the progression of weapon types in Medieval Europe and their reasons. Even warhammers did not rely on blunt force impact alone, most had a spike of some sort.

2: I always assumed that Cuendillar was heavier than the initial iron object thuse making armor from it impractical, but I could be wrong about that. If it is heavier, you also have to keep in mind that there are limitations on how thin the WOT technology level can make iron sheet. Also, there seems to be much less development in arms & armor types than the corresponding period in our world.

So, a thin layer of cuendillar, with lot of padding? *NM* - 26/01/2011 09:52:18 PM 302 Views

The spike was a later addition; the primary method of damage was blunt force trauma. *NM* - 28/01/2011 09:20:32 PM 300 Views
Plate armor is also a "late addition" - 03/02/2011 03:22:55 PM 608 Views
Who says it would transmit the shockwaves? As you note below it violates many laws of physics. *NM* - 02/02/2011 06:51:18 PM 320 Views

well there seems to be more effective ways of going about making armor - 28/01/2011 06:54:37 PM 682 Views

Awesome. So take your thoughts and apply them to the situation. - 02/02/2011 08:10:05 PM 665 Views
I know, but it's more fun to break physics with magic *NM* - 02/02/2011 09:27:36 PM 316 Views
