There are "regular" Darkhounds, that you can kill like whatever, and Darkhounds that can only be killed with balefire.

really? i must have missed this i thought they were all like unnaturally strong can't kill creatures. Did we ever witness the regular dark hounds? the only ones i remember are the ones moraine took out with balefire, the 2 times rand took them out with balefire, once in the 3 fold land once in the wetlands, the ones outside Perrins camp that didn't attack. I'm sure there were more instances but i can't seem to remember them right now.
