that Rand behaved really silly in sending Perrin to Ghealdan on a mission which didn't necessary required Perrin's presence. Not only that, but Rand didn't do anything seek Perrin out when he didn't return for months. He knew about that viewing yet completely ignored it.
Anyway, women who can channel, or more precisely Semirhage, already hurt Rand twice after Dumai's wells - the loss of the hand and then when she put the male a'dam on him, which from emotional point of view was devastating blow. I'd say that viewing has already been already fulfilled a number of times.
I don't see even Egwene with her unlimited arrogance turning Merrilor into a battle between hers and Rand's forces. I expect a heated discussion, at the end of which Egwene will be convinced by Cadsuane, Nynaeve and possibly Moiraine if she arrives in time that Rand's plan makes sense. Together they will come up with some politically convenient PR move to save Egwene's face and preserve the Tower's reputation.
I really don't see Egwene letting herself being influenced by any man, even Perrin. The TAR incident in ToM showed how little she thought of his abilities and how surprised she was that he showed competence. Maybe due to a ta'veren effect, but she managed to resist Rand a few times, and he's way stronger. The presence of Perrin's forces may make Egwene more cautious too, so I guess he may help indirectly this way.

Don't like this since Perrin is FINALLY in the same room as Rand. One should happen now *NM*

I'm still of the opinion that Rand is headed towards the same disaster LTT did

I wonder if Sanderson's division of this story into two books affected this plot
