You got me wrong Skeeve the Great Send a noteboard - 25/11/2010 07:11:43 PM
deeper analysis of WoT issues than most. Even more, he's upfront about points of contention, acknowledging that he might be wrong, and admitting that he has to make an educated guess.

DomA clearly put a lot of effort into thinking about what was "wrong" with these books, and expressed it very well. His ideas about the books - which had always been intended as one novel - make a lot of sense. And DomA found a lot of facts to back them up. It's no wonder that I agree with him, though not everyone has to.

Having more to say than other people doesn't make someone more likely to be right. The quality of the thoughts that people express, however, *is* something that influences people and lends weight to one's arguments. It's even better when you get someone who "plays fair" in their arguments - ie, isn't going to simply go off bombastically (you know who you are), or downplay the flaws in their logic (ditto), or just say "what's up with X?"

By those standards, DomA posts consistently score a 10/10 with me and others... Your mileage may vary.

I like reading DomA's post, but I don't agree with him all the time. And I definitely don't agree with the Velveti's post "read DomA's review. BullShit ruined the series", which implies that there are bunch of bullsh!t (revealed by DomA) in the series which are Brandon's fault somehow and the series is ruined.

First of all, I don't see any of that in the books Brandon wrote. Granted, there are several "hit and miss" issues, coming from different writing style, but they are so miniscule that I don't pay attention to them that much. For me it's almost the same as comparing KoD and couple previous books. All written by RJ, but they are different is pace and style. That's what makes the series is exciting to read - you are expecting unexpected.

Second, from what I read from other posters, "the bullsh!t" mostly comes from the readers dissatisfaction that some of the plot are not moving forward the way they (readers) want, or some of the plots are not covered the way they (readers) want, or such. THIS is utter "bullsh!t" in my view.
