Why 'save' her deus ex machina style, just so she could...do nothing in the next book?
Her role was utterly pointless in ToM. Basically instead of Moridin telling Slayer what to do, he gave Slayer to Graendal so she could tell him that to do. Seems like she wasn't really needed at all. At least we should have seen her in some confrontation against Rand, Perrin etc.
So what, she's saved for the last book to be mindtrapped by Moridin? How pathetic. She'd be better off dead then since her own unique character traits that make her so interesting to us are worthless as a mindless slave to Moridin.
Yes, maybe some people wanted to see more of Graendal, but if she was going to survive the unsurvivable (balefire) at least she should have reallY RIPPED Rand and Co a new asshole in ToM.
She herself was USELESS. She never got herself personally involved AND it wasnt even her own involvement which got Slayer involved. At least we could have seen her having to have to hunt down Slayer to make him do the deed, but she was just handed Slayer, she did NOTHING. She confronted NOONE and I'm sorry, but I think we'd ALL like to see a Chosen tear that shit up for once!
I dont think we've seen any Chosen really fight hard for a VERY long time, decades. Wouldn't it have been A LOT more fun to watch Graendal's back against the wall and going ballistic against Rand, maybe compelling every channeler around him to attack him at once!
Anything EXCITING would be something fresh to watch from one of the 'terrible' Chosen.

It's pacing and editing was bad, I see and agree on that. But the story overall was great.

I was under the impression other Forsaken had access as well, something pointed out by their POVs ..
