I just finished TOM, found it very readable, and like many, i was surprised to find myself actually enjoying the Perrin sections. I also liked the Moiraine rescue section, but would have really enjoyed seeing more of her afterwards.
The main gripe I had with the book was it did little - nothing - to releve my hunger to see more of Mat and Tuon together, some of the most enjoyable sections of the prior books for me.
So, while TOM did resolve some important threads, it left the Seanchan issue dangling overhead like another mass of dark clouds.
Can't wait to see how it all ends! Bring on AMoL!

"What Comes After" for Matt and Tuon, specifically the re-taking of the Seanchan continent for the Empire, was to have been the plot of one of the Outrigger Novels that were discussed. In a recent chat, Brandon said that there has been discussion of him doing the other 2 prequels and the Outriggers after the Encyclopedia is released, but that he's opposed to it personally. He thinks they should stop after AMoL, but would continue through the prequels and Outriggers if asked to do it.
Personally, that's the only Prequel/Outrigger I'm really interested in reading.

The Seanchan are actually more worrisome to me than the DO.

I agree. The Seanchan represent a world order based upon all the principles of evil.

Personally, I'm rooting for the Seanchan to take over Randland.
