seems like a pretty dramatic turn around IMO darius_sedai Send a noteboard - 19/11/2010 09:32:41 PM
Birgitte probably realizes that limiting herself tactically isn't a good idea. Also, I think she's going to get hurt protecting Elayne - Elayne came close to killing the both of them via the Warder bond in TOM, and I'm starting to be curious about whether they will survive TG.

While I won't be surprised if Birgitte dies (she's mentioned often enough about how she and GC usually went out in a blaze of glory), I think the sword carrying was an oversight.

Look at this quote and decide:

WH
Streets of Caemlyn

As if to make up for her hurry, she took a moment to study the Guardswomen and return Caseille's salute before turning her mount to walk beside Elayne's. Unlike them, she wore neither sword nor armor. The memories of her past lives were fading– she said she could remember nothing at all clearly before the founding of the White Tower, now, though fragments still floated up—but one thing she claimed to recall absolutely. Every time she had tried to use a sword, she had nearly gotten herself killed, and had even done so more than once.
Domani Drag Queen in the White Tower ... Aran'gar watch out!

Maybe she's forgetting those older memories about why she didn't like them? - 19/11/2010 09:15:47 PM 530 Views

But if her memories of her prior lives when disaster occurred are fading, it would make sense. - 19/11/2010 09:55:24 PM 463 Views
But the events of WH are less than 6 months prior - 19/11/2010 10:07:21 PM 474 Views

She does mention that it annoys her but she has to wear it. - 28/11/2010 12:25:46 PM 432 Views
It's a slip, almost as bad as showing Aiel carrying swords. *NM* - 19/11/2010 10:13:23 PM 212 Views
I don't think it's a slip - 19/11/2010 11:13:42 PM 566 Views
