If you're not a fan of the Forsaken... get out It's nice to see some decent villainy at stages, and Mesaana delivered some good moments in this book (before she was turned into a drooling vegetable). These are my favourite Mesaana moments before she took the plunge that made her wear a diaper for the rest of her days...
"Someone appeared in the room with her. The newcomer wore black, a magnificent gown with silver trim. Darkness swirled around her, made of spinning ribbons of cloth, her skirt rippling... There was power in those eyes, and Egwene immediately knew what she was facing..."
"Failure always needed to be punished. Consistency was the key in all forms of training."
"The children who fought above obviously thought themselves practiced in this place, but children they were. She had been coming to Tel'aran'rhiod for a century before her imprisonment."
"You think you can best me? I have walked Tel'aran'rhiod longer than you can imagine."
"Egwene felt something press against her, as it had before. Mesaana's will, demanding her subservience, her supplication... Mesaana was strong."
"You will bend," Mesaana said quietly.
Hmm... not the best Forsaken appearance ever, but her physical appearance in TAR was rather cool. I do enjoy the female Forsaken and their penchant for the dramatic... Lanfear on a wagon fighting Rand, Semirhage appearing as living fire, Mesaana as a silver apparition/shadow-cloaked woman... all very cool to see. Still waiting for Graendal ...

Was Moridin's first scene the one where he plays chess with himself and laughs hysterically?
