Who was that man that Moiraine saw while she was a prisoner in the ToG?
The man was interested in Lanfear, not Moiraine.
The other interesting thing is that the other ter'angreal was melted (the one from Tear). Did this man have something to do with the the destruction of this ter'angreal?
Other people have speculated that Moridin was the one that visited Lanfear. Terez even stated that she thinks that Moridin was secretly in love with Lanfear. I don't think he loved Lanfear because Lanfear some how ended up dying in this process.
Moridin probably had need of Lanfear for the Last Battle. As we saw in the epilogue of ToM, Lanfear appeared in Rand's dream. Some of still wonder if this dream was a ruse or not. As we as we know, Lanfear is mindtrapped with Moridin-- not tortured in Shayol Ghul.
Lanfear still has a role to play in the outcome of the Last Battle. Moridin knew this so he couldn't just leave Lanfear as a prisoner. My theory is that Moridin came to Finnland through the ToG. Moridin used the True Power to ward off the Finns and arrive at the main chamber. Moridin arrived at the main chamber. Rather than pay a price to the Finns, Moridin murdered Lanfear so that the Dark One could reincarnate her. Moridin then escaped Finnland through the ter'angreal in Tear. Moridin later destroyed this ter'angreal so that Moiraine could not be rescued.
This theory has some major holes, however. How could Moridin hold off the Finns when Lanfear and Moiraine could not? Maybe the True Power played a role, but it still doesn't make much sense that the Finn were able to easily capture Moiraine and Lanfear but they weren't able to subdue Moridin. How could Moridin even find the right chamber, not to mention navigate to the exit ter'angreal without having Mat's ta'veren luck? We have seen no evidence that Moridin payed a price to the Finns (since ACOS we have seen no bodily mutilations on Moridin), therefore I believe that Moridin probably cheated the Finns by murdering Lanfear-- escaping the need for any agreement.
Any thoughts?

My first thought was that is was Slayer, Perrin has seen him hanging around the Tower of Ghenjei in TAR a few times. I think he went there after Lanfear had already died (did Moiraine not say that the Finns killed her when they drained her Power too fast?) by someone who didn't know that she was dead. I don't think it would have been a rescue attempt either, if sent by one of the Forsaken it was probably to make sure she was dead, they're such a friendly bunch

I amuse myself.

Yeah, didn't Moiraine say the Finns drained Lanfear of her OP too quickly? *NM*

She said that's what the Finns told her, but she thinks they were trying to scare her. *NM*

Seems likely that the reader is intended to surmise it's the truth after all, though.

Slayer can enter the Tower much more easily than anyone else in Randland.

What evidence is there that Slayer can enter the tower easier than anyone in Randland?
