I am a WoT fan and always will be, but I can certainly see, understand, and agree with many of the negative feelings identified by Larry, DomA, and Tom. After reflecting on ToM, I think it was a book of great moments, but had many glaring problems that decreased my enjoyment. I appreciate Mr. Sanderson's efforts to write the end of a world not his own and I don't know if another (or anyone, for that matter) could do a flawless job. It just didn't work that well in this book.
And Robert Jordan had many issues that I would have hoped we could move beyond. I can agree with complaints about one dimensional characterizations, annoying and repitious traits/reactions, and unfortunate "fetish" tendencies (female spanking and the rape of female Forsaken being the worst). So, while I love the series and will want to see how it ends, I do not disdain these well thought out and justified complaints.

I agree with most of the points you both make, but blame Jordan himself far, far more.

My opinion of Jordan's success with the late series differs...

For someone so vehement about the differences between B-Sand and KJA, you reference KA a lot.

Agreed. Lord of Chaos was the last truly exciting book in the series. *NM*
