How does it work?
This is more of a question, than a theory, but I figure it applies since some of you will probably have theories of your own about the answer, as I don't think it's explicitly stated in the books.

Like cuendillar it absorbs the One Power. However, it also protects the man it touches, which means that it has warding powers too.
