Egwene was so awesome in the previous book that the Dark One has shifted his focus to her, and away from the three ta'veren. He realizes now where the true threat is. I suspect that the food in the Tower will soon be rancid


Evil always fights with its internal rivals first, after all. That has always been the Shadow's problem - they'd rather pick on their peers and ignore the ta'veren unless face to face with the heroes of the Light. All such past behavior COMPLETELY supports your scenario!
